After all, there are so many other interesting topics and content on the internet waiting to be discovered and read. Taking the paperhelp is essential here.
The online readers are impatient. And they are distracted – from flashing displays, from other visible text tips in the sidebar or from pop-up alerts, but also from their surroundings when they read on the smartphone.
Caution: exhausting online texts scare off
This is a problem for us as a copywriter. After all, we want to draw the reader’s attention to our article, which should best be read from the beginning to the end. That’s a challenge for every copywriter. So it’s good to know how the readers tick and when their attention span goes down. They do that when they see what’s on the screen
- boring
- complicated
- exhausting
- superfluous
- or not manageable appears.
Then your readers are gone quickly. Just a click brings you to the supposedly better article. So what can we do to keep them, to make them finish reading our text?
The solution: write good online texts
Actually, that’s easy. You have to write interesting online texts. Those are so appealing that your reader really wants to read them. Or at least skim over. Many users initially scan the content, usually in search of relevant information.
You read less than 28 percent of a web page and decide within eight seconds for or against a website or a text. As an author, you increase the likelihood that a user stays in the picture, flipping over, and even reading if your article is interesting.
You may think: should I write a good text? Of course, what I have to say is interesting in terms of content. Then it will be read too. But it’s not that easy. Just because the readers are usually so little attentive to the cause.
Accept your readers as they are
But you can influence and change that. Because there is a recipe for success: apply it step by step then you will write good online texts. It really only depends on how you package and sell your content. we do not mean that you should promise as much as in advertising – as much as you might not be able to meet in the end because that would even be counterproductive.
